Can anyone help me with the nose weight for my car? its a 2004 VW Sharan 1.9TDI, also am I best to load the van with the awning over the axle or at the back to get the nose weight up I tow a Bailey Pageant Loire which when weighed using my nose weight gauge is around the 90 Kilos mark and have been told the nose weight for my car is 75 kilos but it didnt seem to tow to well at this weight. I have also been told that to stop snaking etc its better to have the nose weight above the weight indicated by the vehicle manufacturer is this true.

Hello Dave,

I am sorry I can't tell you what the maximum tow ball down force load is for the Sharan. It should be stamped on a data plate attached to the tow bar or vehicle. Seek the max load data from the manufacture of the tow-bar.

You are illegal if load the tow-bar with a greater down force than its stated maximum.
