Really? £37k for an SUV that's had its suspension lowered - thereby removing any off-road capability it might once have had - and based on this review, destroying its on-road ride comfort in the process?
Oh, I'm sure it tows well. But it looks to be proof that the world really has gone mad.

Interesting that DM picks up on the lack of creep ability with the DSG auto box. Previously i have had autos with the conventional torque converter epicyclic gearbox, and one Subaru CVT. I do find the Superb DSG does require a lot more attention when backing up to the caravan hitch, and on gravel or grass pitches it's even less predictable. So I've tended now to use the mover for the final piece of hitching up. Cheaper than smacking the cars bumper.

Previous autos would just go backwards without or just with a small amount of throttle and handbrake control if required. The DSG needs more throttle and as such makes smooth slow reversing just that little bit more difficult than with previous autos. It becomes more noticeable when on grass or gravel pitches, and if I need to reverse up a levelling ramp. It's probably more a feature of gear ratio than anything else. Otherwise the DSG does the business beautifully.
But thats just the point nobody "off roads " in them , grassy field yes, i have been on numerous suv car studies and future ones (the new Toureg being the latest) and no one is interested in going off road in them, they want the height the cars give them and the sense of security when driving plus 4 wheel drive when the weather gets bad although the tyres will put pay to that.SamandRose said:
