VW Touran 170

Does anyone have any experience of towing with the Touran 170?

I am considering changing my Touran 140 for the 170 - solo, the 170 drives very well, but I noticed in the recent Caravan Club Magazine that someone commented that they didn't like its 'very peaky on/off power delivery'.

Any thoughts please?

Don't have the Touran but do have a Skoda Octavia vRS 170 TDi Estate.

It tows very well, I personally haven't had any problems with the power delivery.

Now has 9000 miles on the clock and just gets better and better.

Solo its mid 40's generally, but can get as high as 57mpg on a gentle long run.

Towing, high 20's low 30's depending on headwinds, terrain etc
