Wanted nice friendly site 250-300 milles south of Calias

The municipal at Obernai is Alsasce (OK, so its SE) is a beaut. Lovely old town within walking distance, good wine country, and you can *** over into Germany with ease. Local wine sold on site, cheap Interweb access in the office, town centre (10 mins walk) has plenty of bars and restaurants (but no McD!!) The site is large but a bit cramped and all tourers. Most pitches have full services. Acceptably quiet.

The municipal at Bourges is also worth a visit. Again a very attractive city centre within walking distance. A couple of bars near the site, but like Obernai the city centre has plenty of bars and restaurants. Roomy site just off the (not busy) ring road.

Angers, Samur, and Tours on the Loire are worth a visit. Another interesting place just off the Loire is Chinon with a good, quiet municipal site and a short walk over the river bridge to the town centre.
