warm fridge

Whils away this weekend we noticed that our fridge was not cooling enough.

After all the usual checks the only two possible causes were, the awning was so hot on saturday morning that the fridge was not getting any ventilation of cool air and secondly when the caravan door is open , which it is all day, the door covers the vents and so causing the same problem.

The van is a Pageant provence, and the door over the vents is a possible design fault. When we closed the door, after a while the fridge worked properly.

Regards

John, what you have said hits the nail on the head. On an older van I purchased a small computer cooling fan, placed it under vaines of the fridge. Connected it to a 12V supply and an illuminated switch and end of warm fridge. Be careful in choosing the fan, some are 240, and others are only 12Volt.Bazz.

We had this last weekend and realised we had forgotten to take the winter vents off. After doing this the fridge and freezer was great. We did notice on our van when the door is open it covers the vents [ ours is a bailey wyoming. When we have been in Spain we have had to take the vents off altogeter and put a fan onto the back of the fridge. Mark
