Warranty/Service Inspection.

Our van is due to go in for it's 2nd inspection, and I was wondering, do other owners fully empty their vans or just leave the bits in.

It depends what your service centre require.

The standard requirement is to have the van in "as bought" condition, ie nothing inside it.

However some centres will allow some items to remain as long as they do not have to move anything to get to the parts of the van they need to, to carry out the service.

Also some insist that everything is removed to protect them from accusations of theft and accusations of items being damaged.

Anything you do leave will be at YOUR own risk.

Our Caravan will need serviced in February. Thinking about it , if You have to empty everything out , You will then know what You have never used and do You need it ?

Yes indeed. We have lightened the load by auditing what we were carrying in the c-van. We left the aqua roll, grey water container and a few bits in the front locker, blue/pink and so on. I could have chucked them in the back of the car but the service manager was OK about them when I asked. Everything else was out. Took me two trips form the storage to the house with all of the stuff, admittedly we had not long come back from a trip and the kids’ bikes and awning were still in the van.

Our service centre is happy as long as they can get freely around the van and the floor wall joints are clear of items, so they can get the damp meter in without moving stuff
