Washing a Caravan on a CAMC site…

Just been washing the caravan on a CAMC site and then noticed the green buggy from the office headed across!

She pulled up and said abruptly ’You can’t wash you caravan on site, it’s all about contamination, you can’t use chemicals’ she never mentioned anything about using a hose which we only used with the spray mist function to wet the caravan 😂

This was without asking first ‘if’ we were actually using chemicals, which was pretty stupid!

So then, after thinking about it, we both had a walk up to the office (just to get a clearer idea why) and jokingly said ‘alright who grassed us up’ which went down like a major lead balloon… I told her that I checked the CAMC T&C’s and could not find a paragraph about the usage of chemicals or washing a caravan to be exact. She said it’s def in there somewhere and she would have to find it…(I’ll await the proof)

I told her I would just wash it with a bucket of hot water and then had a reply, you shouldn’t be washing your caravan anyway really with a winky face, you should really only clean your lights….😳 Then she mentioned some people use ‘Clean Dry’, which I’ve never heard of..

Someone obviously grassed us up, as the office can’t be seen from where we are and the buggy came directly to us and then went back to the office. Honestly, people should just relax instead of sticking their nose into places!!

Never washed any caravan on any site, apart from lights and lounge windows perhaps. Better things to do when on holiday.

Not sure about washing the caravan, but got told off once for hanging our towels on a rotary drier behind the caravan. "Show me the rules stating that I cannot do that" Wardens didn't come back.

Plenty of jobs worths around .

I was once reprimanded because the bumper of our motorhome wasn't directly over the pitch marker at the front. Just a few centimetres out.

Done that recently at Cambridge C and CC, asked the warden about it as my brother was new to caravanning, the warden said, just move the pitch marker. Nice wardens.

No matter how I pitch our caravan, it always looks a mess, awning in disarray, dirty Cadac, flip flops ( I hate Crocs) ( even yours DD) outside the awnings,
We looked like week end Pikeys.

Ah towels are just the thin end of the wedge. Next comes shirts and trousers, followed by vests, socks and undies. How is the warden to know all those other things are worn all week 😂

Defo a Jobs worth.
Last year at Culloden CAMC I was asked to move my sat dish. One of the tripod legs was on the grass immediately , by one inch outside of my pitch boundary on a piece of “waste” ground.
I use Greased Lightning waterless wash on the caravan whilst away. Great stuff and polishes at the same time

Yes, in fact it will be done tomorrow before going back under it's cover. I do use a lot of microfibre cloths, 10-15 for a small sports car.
Once a year it gets a full valet and polish from the local detailing company usually just before it's winter hibernation.

It’s not contaminating anything if it’s not touching the ground…the warden even said some people use the Waterless products, so I took that as a green light ;)

I’m proving a point, nothing can be said if I’m not ‘contaminating’ anything :)

Some many years ago, somewhere in France, I washed the front of the van. Because we had driven through a few million flies.

I did the minimum needed. I then emptied the dirty water onto the soak away under the site tap.

A Dutch woman had a go at me in English. Pointing at a sign which was only written in French and Dutch.

This is the same woman who was pitched up behind us. Being a Dutch van they had no facilities, so they set up a table outside between our vans. We had the pleasure of seeing the family wash there spilling all their waste below.

Double standards me thinks.
