I have asked my brother , who has a 2023 Swift if he can send me a couple of pictures of his lock. He says he has to pull it really hard to get the pins to close properly.

Any luck with your photos bud, so we can all see as ref?

A bit of Fred Drift . My Bailey Hartal door lock assembly seized up last week virtually stopping us from entering the caravan.
Got a new oneFrom these good guys
Looking closely at the old one hard to see what has failed other than all the joints are sloppy.

Sorry but No pictures, as he has had it back to the dealer for a check over after putting his left wheel down a broken drain,
He is out in it on Thursday I will get him to send me a couple of photos.

Saxo, eventually received from my brother a picture from his 2020, Swift Celeste, Archway. If you enlarge the picture, the locking plate is different.

That’s exactly the same as my 2017 Swift

Could be that Swift were seeing a lot of worn down strike plates of continuous opening and closing of the latch, they decided to add a removable plate, which can be swapped over with ease instead of swapping the whole plate like Hutch’s brothers…that’s my theory.

........interesting thread for me as I have a 2012 Swift Challenger that has a much simpler door lock that has never given the slightest concern.

Seem Swift now fit what looks like a more secure dead lock that needs exact alignment to work properly.
Can't help thinking that the door maybe more secure on later models, but the plastic window catches can be easily forced just the same!

We’ve had a Swift too and never needed to slam the door. Sounds like yours might just be a bit out of alignment. Probably an easy adjustment for the dealer to sort, worth dropping them a message.

Took a photo of ours yesterday. We have already turned the plate around. Ours is not out of alignment like Saxon’s photo. This is on a 2022 Sprite Alpine2

And you don't need to slam the door, could you take a small video and I will send to my dealer if possible?

I will do a video, but the van is in storage some 40 minutes away. We may not be back down there for a few weeks. We do need to give it a definite pull but certainly not slam it since we changed the plate around.
