I suppose it is difficult to know how long caravan will be so "half way" would vary user from user.And also which side to set it? - Just being devils advocate!
 
A lot of seasonals use Grey’s method. For the tourer there isn’t much weight difference so imo a very useful mod. Fully serviced pitches vary where the grey drain is . Agree it makes sense to exit the pipe(s) near the wheels. Also when left unattended worth pluging up the exit hole to stop vermin nesting :evil:
