A GROUP of travellers have been forcibly removed from their Cleethorpes camp as council officials deal with complaints, including fly-tipping and poor standards of construction work.
He said: "The last straw came when security fencing erected to safeguard the site was picked up and put on the back of one of the traveller's trailers to be sold as scrap metal. And they did that right in front of us.
John Waite, council environmental enforcement manager, said the enforcement action came in the wake of "a high level of criminal activity and anti-social behaviour", which appeared to have taken place since the group set up camp over the weekend.
It is believed they are now bound for Leeds.
