Water collecting in container

We brought one of those de-humidifier containers (the one you pop crysals in top and water collects underneath). We havent used our 1997 van since Sept., and as far as we can see there is no damp, so why has the container filled half way with water and also I found mould in fridge, which I cleaned after we used it, and I left it ajar! Please can anyone tell me if this is normal?

As your van has a number of vents in it, unless you can seal them you are collecting water from outside air coming through the vents.

The fridge mould could be down to what you cleaned it with, always clean fridges with a solution of water and bicarb and had all the ice behind the fridge ellements melted.

The crystals are doing what they are supposed to do.

There will always be some moisture in the air and the crystals help to remove it.

Cris's advice is good.

When you visit empty the water - warmer days will start putting the moisture back into the air and condensation will be the result.
