water filter please help

hi everyone
can anyone give me some advice i have Compass Yorkshire Diamond 2003
i am trying to find out if my water system has a filter on it
i can not seem to find one maybe someone could shed some light on this for me

Hello Peally it could well be your caravan does not have a water filter.I know our compass didnt and that was the same age as yours. If you have a filter fitted it would be close or next to where the pump plugs in or even after the pump inside the caravan. Not all caravans nowadays have filters I think It was something to do with cost cutting.

Thank goodness they don't; I think its not so much cost cutting but health related reasons why the simple fillers are not fitted. In our intermitently used caravans the filter, left wetted between trips can be a breeding ground for fungi and bacteria making the water supply worse than without it.
The more sophisticate silver based, natural biocide filters are the only type I would tolerate in our systems, and they dont come cheap, so their omission is indeed cost cutting.
