I have a 2008 Sterling 620. I do not know where the water filter is situated. With my old van it was by the water inlet, it unscrewed and had a charcoal filter. On my new van the filling pipe has a round object on the end, that you put in the water barrel. Is the filter in this?

There is no filter as such, Swift Group have not fitted filters for quite a while.

We have the same set-up as you, the disk thing on the end of the pipe is a sort of strainer thing to keep out debris. The on-board pump also has strainer mesh fitted on ours, this can be cleaned if necessary.

As in the previous post - look at the Filtapac site - they do a replacement cylinder where the bottom unclips which can be used with the refills they supply. Been using them for years (they also do refills for the older type of filter), excellent service and great products.

For starters it filters out any mineral content which causes hardness in water, limestone particles and magnesium. Those are not harmful, however the filter also traps other oxides such as aluminium lead or copper.
