Water Heater

Hi all, Is it ok to have the water heater on (on electric) for the duration of the trip when we arrive on site?

Cheers

Rusty

hi rusty we do it all the time, Your heater should be fitted with a thermostat that will control it so long as its not got a fault its fine.

Hi Rusty,

Dont know about every one else but I usually turn it off when we go out, put it on when we get back, have a cup of tea then its reached its temp. I also switch it off at night and as the switch is under my bed when I awake, reach down switch on, ready for OH to wash me beer glass!!

Hi, the wife is always moaning that it might not be safe she wants to put it off at night, and its a pain in the morning and no hot water thats why i ask.

Rusty

yes its only keeps water to a temp of about 70 its like a berko boiler.
Sorry St.Gump,

"Burko" Boilers actually boil the water caravan water heaters definitely should not boil the water. I never did like the Truma called their water heaters Boilers, they are only heaters

In terms of economy it is definitely better to switch off when it is not needed, in terms of convenience leave it on.

it is thermostatically controlled so it will cycle every so often even if no water is drawn off.
