hi all

at my uncles at the moment at the van. last time we came the water was working and then it stopped after coming through very slowly. today i have taken the filter out and just put the cap back in as someone suggested the system may have been clogged up with the carbon so i did that.

i have drained the system incase that was the problem however it just doesnt seem to be filling back up. there is a slight buzz coming from the pump so i just really dont know now.

so feeling slightly low now as we havent even been away in it yet and just seems to be one big problem and more money :-(

any help please guys

check things out first are all drain taps closed, and taps is filter in place and pump in water container, press pump hard into connections,on side wall switch on,try opening a cold tap, does pump run if not tap pump on side of container, or shake, could be air locked at pump,if it runs but no water at tap look under van for leak, drain is open need to close,or you could have a pressure switch which will need adjusting, its is found on the pipe run near the inlet inside and has a white turn screw on top, look in handbook, when pump is running clear air by opening taps in turn until water at all taps, the hot will gurgle a lot as air in boiler neads to clear it takes time and nearly one container of water only other checks is fuse and pump switch is on.

Hi Danny

If you are getting a slight buzz from the pump, there must be power getting to it. If the water was coming through slowly and then stopped it may be that the impellor in the pump has seized. A gentle tap on the side of the pump may free it. If not try to remove the pump end cap this will allow you to check if the impellor is turning.

Hope this helps.

hi

thanks for your replies

i have taken the cap off the end of the pump and the impellor wasnt moving do i got a screwdriver and turned it gently, put it back in the water and still a slight buzzing and vibration but stil no water

i checked under the van the last time we were down and couldnt spot any leaks so i dont think it is that

as you said that there is power getting to the pump and the impellor may have seized is there a better way i can try and get it going again?

as regards to the pressure switch i have found that under the seat in the van however should it be turned all the way down or all the way up? we dont have any instructions for it?

Hello Danny,

Sadly if the impeller is not turning, then it does mean the motor is sized,

There are no replaceable parts inside these pumps so it means a trip to the dealers to get a replacement.

You may find one a bit cheaper on Ebay.

PS it does not have to be the same make of pump, it can be any make provided you can connect it to the original hose and power plug.

regards to pressure switch is to turn right and left untill water pressure suits so trail and error set mine once and never neaded to reset, but sounds as if you nead to by a new pump first, sarah
