water pipe cleaning

Hi all

Today we went to a discount store and i spotted a 5 ltr container of Beer Line Cleaner the same as they use in pubs. You add 150 fl oz to a gallon of water. Has any body used similar to clean the pipes in their van ?. It cost me £2.25 and at that rate should last me years.

Cheers

Hi Graham,

The Carver Cascade was manufactured from aluminium, and the inside of the tank was coated with the same material that the brewing industry uses on their aluminium beer barrels. The preferred cleaning agent for the heater was Chempro SDP which was approved by the brewing industry and safe to use on aluminium appliances.

Chempro is no longer available (I don't know why) but I am pretty sure that if the product you are using is for the plastic and metal parts of the beer delivery systems in pubs, then my guess is it should be good and safe for caravan pipework with the proviso that it used strictly in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.

Hi John The containes says :NILCO, Sodium Hypochlorate, 1.5%cl active, Sodium Hydroxide, do you think this is the same as Chempro ?

Cheers
