water pressure

Hello Mike,

You don't say if you have previously had good pressure in the caravan.

I will make two assumptions. Please ignore the one that dose not apply

assuption One.

If this is your first experience of caravanning, you may be expecting too much from the water system. quite simply it does not provide either the pressure or the flow you are used to at home from a mains supply.

Assumption two.

You have noticed a drop in performance. In this case something has changed. If the problem exists on both hot and cold water supplies at all taps then the first thing to check is if the pressure switch can be adjusted to increase the pressure. failing that there is some blockage or restriction somewhere in the cold water pipe between the inlet and the first division. Depending on the system you have fitted, there may be a non return valve in the external fitting. If this was left with water in the caravan over winter, ice may have formed and distorted the valve, so it is only partially open. another cause of problems can be the content of a filter cartridge escaping and the carbon granules lodging in the valve again restricting flow.

If the problem is only with hot water, then a similar problem with the NRV but this time the inlet valve on the heater

one other thing to try is to remove the anti splash mesh fitted to the tap spout, this often get's cloged with scale & restrick's the flow

Is the pressure ok with the internal pump? If not you may find a non return valve is fitted in the pressure switch housing.
