Water problems

Afternoon
Just had a lovely weekend away in the caravan, BUT we had no water, when ever we used the taps water would drain out of a pipe underneath, I'm told it's the yellow drain down switch that's broken, I tried putting it in all positions and it made no difference ??? Any advice please, we are very new to caravan so havnt got a clue ???

Are you sure it is coming from the plastic drain down tube. As there another tube underneath looks the same which comes from the Red vale on the top of the water heater

As, in your own words "You haven't got a clue" I would suggest your best course of action is to employ someone who does "have a clue" and get the problem properly fixed so you can enjoy your next trip away. The yellow drain down tap I exactly that, you open it (so it's vertical) and the water drains out without any further action like the pump working, so it cannot be that.
The red valve on the top of the boiler is there to allow air IN to replace the water that's draining OUT when the yellow valve is open. So it cannot be that either.

I suspect the yellow tap internal diaphragm has failed , maybe frost damage from a previous owner.
If you are sure the pipe losing water is attached to the yellow tap, buy a new one.
Here’s an example. Depending on your make and model it may be slightly different, check.

The red valve on the top of the boiler is there to allow air IN to replace the water that's draining OUT when the yellow valve is open. So it cannot be that either.
It can be that valve although it lets air in when draining if the valve inside is scaled up or even missing as I have had in the past water will pour out of it when the pump runs and out of the plastic tube going out through the floor,
The seal piece can come adrift and go back inside the boiler when draining down. Do not know until the next time the boiler is filled.

I sometimes get caught out , I turn up to an unfamiliar caravan and attach the pump and set it running to fill the system only to find the yellow tap is in the drain position and the water is pouring out of the bottom of the van!!! when at a storage facility it can be a real pain to obtain water
