Water pump issues

Just got our first caravan, however water pump is not working, we have check the pump on the battery and works fine, check there was power getting to the cables inside the caravan and receiving power however even put the wires together. No power getting to the pump, it is a older caravan so water inlet and power are not next to each other, there is no connect on the wires to plug into the space on the back of the van, any help at all would be great

Errin I am sorry your post is not that clear but check inside your caravan as there maybe a switch for the pump.Maybe you could post the make and year of your caravan and that would help the techies on here to find your problem

Thanks for the reply, we have hunted but no switch, you hear a click when your turn the top on/off

Caravan is a marauder 450 not sure of the year, pump works fine when we test it on the battery, from the pump there is just two cable, I can email picture if that helps

Hello Erin,

Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?, Because what you need to do now is to start probing for voltages and to find where the power circuit is broken.

Erin
Important!
Make sure you have disconnected any 230v electric supply, before you start probing with a multimeter....

Is the click in the tap? If so, it could be that a microswitch has failed. Have you tried another tap (i.e. washroom or shower if fitted)?
