water pump not pumping

hi all,can anyone help with my water pump problem,got a caravan with a whale water system but no connection for aquaroll,so bought one of them,connected it to my pump,50001,but would not pump,sochecked wiring to it,crossed them and blew fuse,so there must be power going to it,so removed it and connected it directly to the battery,still nothing,so took it to my local store,they checked it said it was no good,so bought a new one,got home,thought i would put it direct to battery,connecting 2 and 3 to pos,and 1 to neg,still cant get anything from it,so connected it into system,opened taps,but it will not pump any water,any ideas about how to get it pumping??????????thanks

Hi,

If the new pump doesn't run connected directly to a power source then I suspect that too is faulty. I would return it to the shop and have them demonstrate the replacement working.

I would also check if you have the correct voltage at the pump terminals, is the water dependent on a switch in the taps or do you need to just power up the pump?

i took it back to the shop,they supposedly tested it,and said there was continuity going through the + terminal,and that it was ok,but still not sure,got someone coming to look at it soon,so will find out then

You colud try cleaning the contacts on the van with a small round precision file.
It happened to me once and that sorted it. Worth a try.
