Water pump problems

Please can anyone help,
I have a swift conqueror 645 2010
The on board water tank was very slow to fill, I thought it was the external Truma pump being the course, this was not the case.
I found a solenoid fitted to the supply pipe which was very hot, i removed it and found a blocked filter inside the fitting, cleaned and re assembled, but now the on board pump doesn’t work correctly I have to bleed the system out from the shower to make the main pup work, can any one out there please advise. Many Thanks

When you say "a blocked filter inside" are you sure it wasnt a non return valve?
When I looked in to the end of what I think is solenoid valve I found a mesh filter that was blocked with a black substance, just before this valve is a pressure switch that controls the water entering the van from the water barrel outside.
Hope this help s.
