Water pumps

Hi, The water pump in our Autocruise Starburst appears to be very noisy at times. The tank is full and taps are run but it continues to spit as though air was in the system and it sounds noisy. I have noticed that the pump appears to be fitted what looks like upside down, would it make a difference to the operation of the pump.
I have not located any leaks and the pump does not switch on during the night without taps being used. The pump pressure also seems to be quite high compared to previous pumps in caravans. Any ideas?
 
There was a similar thread on another forum the other day about a noisy water system.
It turned out that the water pump was cracked, probably as a result of not being drained fully for winter.
 
Don't think the pump is cracked otherwise a leak would be evident surely?

Tried a serach on this Forum but it brings up nothing useful about noisy pumps, any idea what forum you refer to?
 
I'm afraid I don't know whether a leak would be evident or not. The other forum is Motorhome Fun.
