Hi all, would really appreciate your help with this.

I have a 1999 Swift Challenger with Carver water heater, after advise of others I was instructed to open the hot water drain plug and cold water drain plug. I always do this with hot water system but didnt know there was a drain plug for cold water ?? If so where is this located, i'm not sure if my van has this plug. If it doesnt how do I drain cold water system?????

Many Thanks

Ian, normally by having both hot and cold taps open, or on vans with single operating mixer taps in the central position, opening the hot water outlet will drain both hot and cold water systems as they share the same fill pipe.

If you look under the van you may well find a blanked off water pipe just poking through the floor, remove the blanking plug to drain low laying water from the cold system, usually by easing back the locking collar and pulling the plug.

Ian,

We too have a Swift - on ours a drain plug, red, hangs down below the 'van underside about six inches from the Carver unit toward the rear of the 'van. As Damian says you need to push the collar up to withdraw the plug. This is a right 'faff' to do so I replaced the plug with a couple of inches of pipe with an in line tap ( all available at caravan acessory shops ) inserted in the end of that. Now all I have to do is crouch down, feel for the tap and turn it on. Can do it in the dark with my eyes closed. Just remember to reverse the process when next setting up.
