As I started the butane Vs Propane discussion, I thought I would get everyone's opinions on the Water/waste Hog Vs Aquaroll/Wastemaster discussion.

I see there are different sizes (and of course prices).

I also notice my water hog's lid (top and side) seem a little bigger than the aqua roll.

Wheeling 45 litres of water is rather heavy (in the hog), so the smaller wastermaster may be better (yes, I know I can empty it earlier :) )

Rubix, the Aquaroll/Wastemaster for me, I had visions of the Wife beating seven bells out of me, when I mention that the waterhog needed sorting.

The main reason I have the above mentioned, is that when we first bought the van, this was all the dealer stocked.

PS. I use Propane as we use the van all year round and I am Bristol Born and RED,

best regards, Martin

Both waste containers are bulky to store (why can't manufacturers provied a dedicated storage point outside?) The Wastehog is the larger and definitely heavier, so that, for me, cliches the Wastmaster

Waste master is just fine for our van, fits just nicely underneath. We also have butane as we intend caravaning this winter.

Hi Rubix,

Always had a wastmaster, when we bought our very first van, that was the only make the dealer had, probably looking back the waste hog had not been invented.

What i like about the wastemaster is that you two inlet heights

where you can insert your waste pipe, used to use the one at the rear the higher of the two but found that when it was full it was quite heavy to pull.

Because of the shape you can also carry your toilet container piggy back at the same time, mine came complete with two flexie leads that you slip over the toilet container so that it does not fall off during your trip to the dispersial area.

You can remove the wheels for when you pack up the van, never found the need to as you can buy a wastmaster cover which fits the wastmaster like a glove.

Being honest - we have a wastemaster and since it's first outing we have never used it.

It takes up far too much room :(

We use a green container that has an access point and it's quite big enough for our needs since we rarely shower in the van and tend to wash up in communal facilities.

Emptying is easy - we have a small very light folding trolley which takes it [ if necessary ] and the Toilet cassette .

I tend to agree with Angela. I dumped my wastehog in a skip a year ago as it just took up far too much space and have now purchased a Fiamma mini version which is about the size of the jerrycan type but does have wheels and a foldable handle. Have not used yet but it certainly does not fill the locker to cpapcity now.

Got my Aquaroll (40 litre) and Wastemaster of a fellow from Aberdeen who was giving up caravanning for twenty pounds each. Both were like new, well chuffed,

Gavin.
