Waterhog mains adaptor

Hi everyone, we are fairly new to caravanning and thoroughly enjoying the freedom it offers. Several of the sites we have visited have individual pitch water supplies, and whilst not inconvenient, we started to look at the float valve kit you can buy to leave the water supply tap on.

Why oh why are these simple looking devices nearly £50? are there any cheaper alternatives around?

Try E bay I cannot remember the name of the guy who makes them up complete with fittings spares and food quality hose but they are half the price log on to e bay and search under mains water valve for aquaroll I have one and it works perfectly. If you can't find it come back to me.

Tony, alternatively you can make your own. The valve that fits into the water container is called a Torbeck valve, it apparently comes in different sizes and is available from most Plumber's merchants ( small size required). A spare aquaroll cap from Towsure, food grade hose and connections and you'll have your water connection.

Don't know the cost of making up your own compared to Ebay, might be worth comparing the two.
