what is the weather generally like in brittany in august compared to the uk?

It should be very warm and very sunny.

But we have spent an August month at La Trinite and Morbihan sailing when it rained nearly every day. Normally it is fine.

Hi Gary,

When we were there a few years ago in late July early August it was no different to the south of England, ie generally warm but often overcast, frequently windy. It rained at some point in the day every couple of days, but not usually for very long. Consequently we haven't been back since and we now head south of the Loire for generally more consistently good weather.

Hi, We live in Cornwall and we always go to the Vendee as the weather in Brittany is usually the same as Cornwall !!! Its worth the extra drive for the sunny Vendee. Denise

Now for the bad news, this year April was fantastic, May & June diabolical, and currently very similar to South West England. Almost everyone here is banking on a change of weather around 14th July, New Moon........but from a very old and experienced local fisherman an aquaintance of mine learned that change may not come until August.
