Weight of 6kg. gas bottle.

Hi.My work was having a clear out in the warehouse and ive acquired a 6kg propane gas bottle.
Just wondering how much they should weigh both empty and full.
The one ive got weighs 11.2 kg.
Perfect for me as the caravan we have just paid a deposit on doesnt come with the gas bottle.
Many thanks
Adrian

The Calor website gives the range of empty weights which do vary quite a bit for each size. There should also be a weight stamp somewhere around the neck of the bottle which will be specific to your bottle.

I weighed mine this weekend as wanted to know how much I had in one of the two bottles. The full, still sealed orange 6kg Calor propane bottle was 14.2kg.

Depending on make the tare weight - the cyclinder empty - will either be painted on the cylinder itself or will be stamped on an aluminium collar around the valve, in lbs & ozs unless otherwise specified. I have had two Flogas 6Kg bottles, one was 8.14Kg and the other is 8Kg. Based on the OPs figure it suggests the cylinder is about half full.

Sorry.....
My son just found out its 7.7-10.9 empty
15-17 full.
(Should have looked myself.....young kids eh?)
Thanks to both of you

Thank you.
I have 2 figures on the metal plate
1. 15/03
2. 19 04

Not really sure what these mean
The first is the date of manufacture, the second is the tare weight - 19lbs 4oz or just about 8¾Kg.
