Hi Folks

I need some info on the weights, below is a list off the web site of explorer for my van but I am unsure on what is what, does the Mass in running order include the Essential Habitation Eqpt and what is the Essential Eqpt I need this info so that I can better understand what I can/cannot carry.

Any help will be appreciated and thanks in advance.

The Essential Habitation Allowance includes things like battery, gas bottles and fluids in water heater, toilet etc. It's NOT included in the Mass in Running Order (MIRO).

In your case the bare caravan weighs 1200kg, add 66kg EHA leaves you 119kg for your personal belongings, to bring you up to a Maximum Technically Permitted Laden Mass (MTPLM) of 1385kg, which must not be exceeded.

The maximum hitch weight of 100kg is the design weight of the hitch assembly and chassis, usually refered to as noseweight. Your actual noseweight should be 7% of the MTPLM 97 kg, or the maximum hitch weight 100kg or the car towbar maximum noseweight WHICHEVER is the LEAST of these three.
