after what seems like years, he's back.

Jonathan Ross is back tomorrow. I for one am looking forward to it and I'm staying in to watch my favourite program.

Lets let bygones be bygones and lets all move on. Good luck Jonathan.

Well Ian

Each to their own.

On this forum there will be those who admire Jonathan Ross and those who despise him.

So watch the programme if you want to and let those who aren't too bothered get on with their own thing.

The arguments for and against have already been posted on the forum so any further raking over of old coals ought to be addressed to tv companies and not caravan forums

I understand not everyone is a fan. But to 'despise' somebody I would expect there to have been serious trauma involved, not a tv/radio presenter who they don't like.

And to be fair, it is in the Chit Chat forum. Recent discussions include Ronaldo (who I admire as a Liverpool fan just to demonstrate my reasonable, 'not hating anybody' outlook on life), Obama, really old (but still funny) chippy jokes, etc.

Now when's Brand back?

As you say, to each his own. I have never watched him, nor ever plan to as I personally find his style very childish.

However, what I think got so many people upset was not just his disgraceful behaviour, but the fact that the BBC is still paying him

Perhaps 'despise' is too strong a term Ian.

JR stirred up some strong feelings though. As Scotch Lad has said, the money that he gets has caused a lot of resentment.

Russell Brand has already been back on tv on channel 4. in Ponderland where he rabbits on making observations like Tom O'Connor on acid.

Not overly a fan of Wossy but I decided to watch the show last night. (seen a few in the past).

I thought his appology was weak and the show was definately tamer than the previous times I'd seen it.

Gave up when it got to Tom Cruise as the wife went all gooey eyed and started rambling on about Top Gun.

The main reason is that the BBC lives in a world of its own. A bit like the Government come to think of it. They have no liability and can basically do as they wish without fear of retribution. In their world we as licence payers are there to put up with whatever garbage they feel fit to thrust on us.

Mr Ross reminds me very much of Roy Chubbie Brown. He is banned from television but people do queue to watch his stage shows. I would have no objection whatsoever if Ross was placed in a similar situation, and those that wish to listen to him, can happily pay at the door. That would leave the rest of us in peace. However, I suspect that in the case of Mr Ross, a stage show would fold very rapidly because if he cannot peddle filth, he has little else to offer. That was probably why he was so desperate to get back on to the small screen, not forgetting the

Scotch lad.

When ross had his contract renewed by the BBC a few years back, it was headline news, so was the fact that Ross said he stayed with the BBC through loyalty,as if money had been the real issue, he would have gone to ITV who actually offered him even more money! so neither he nor the BBC could have claims layed at their feet,as"to be in a different world"

Although it does beggar the question, why are some responses so off the mark, like the person might be coming from a different world.

PS not a Ross fan, but even I could not miss the headline news concerning Ross.

The payments made to people like J Ross are an affront to working people, and probably more so to people without jobs who pay his wages through the licence fee.

Whether you like him or not, no one is worth

I've never liked him, hardly watched him on the tv, I've always found him to be crude.

I think the masses love that type of person, such as Jordan with her foul mouth, that horrendous Welsh woman who was in Big Brother (I don't watch that either), Julian Clary he makes me cringe (not that I'd watch anything he was in either). God, the list is endless, not many people about with manners these days it appears.

"not many people out there with manners these days it appears"

Rather a funny comment if you don't mind me saying so.

Because I was brought up, where good manners meant not slagging anyone off, or at least not in public. clearly good manners must mean something different today!

'g' you are absolutely right. It is just a pity that the so calle 'stars' of these TV Shows have not learned that particular fact and feel that just because they are broadcasting, they have the liberty to exceed all bounds of good tastes. Of course, in a 'mannered society' they would not even have been given house room to start with.

So the situation now exists where many people would like to have a 'mannered society' but others feel it is an anathema. What should one do??

SL - I cannot answer your question 'so what should one do'.

I can only speak for myself - who the hell wants to hear women talk about their monthly cycle???

Who wants to hear about people's toilets habits?

Who wants to hear about close intimate details about people's s** lives?

Not me, perhaps that makes me an odball. If so, that's fine. It just seems to me that this tv rubbish seems to really coin it and people can't get enough of it.

Looks like the good old Beeb have messed up again.

This time Carol Thatcher sacked for apparently mentioning the Go..y W.. (like we used to collect from Robertsons jam) word in the green roon in a private converstion not even televised.

Whether you like good old Carol or not, it does seem to be an incredibal double standard that Mr Woss can make abusive phone calls live on air and just get sent to detention for a few weeks but Carol is sacked for a comment in the green room refering to items which are still sold in the open market today.

I imagine Carol was paid a lot less that 6-7 Million. Perhaps the Beeb now have another opening for Mr Woss to take on and earn a few extra shillings in these hard times.
