Franklin,

Read the following web sites which will give lots of info and reviews.

www.scottishcampingguide.com

www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk

www.ardmair.com ( we went here last year )and enjoyed the site.Toilet facilities good, shop selling camping extras.Approx 5 miles north of Ullapool.

www.clachtollbeachcampsite.co.uk

This is on the list to try this year.....the reviews all seem to rave about the site.

We are also going to try Sango Sands Bay caravan site Durness.Reviews also seem to be good. All we need is the weather.

There is also a good site on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula....Resipole Farm.We drove to see it last year and the standards are excellent.

If you like Club sites, there is nothing to beat Bunree Caravan Club Site at Onich 8 mls south of Fort William.Always booked solid so advance planning essential.

That should feep you quiet for a while !!)

That part of the coast from Arisaig to Mallaig is stunning, we have been on a site at Bunnacaimb a few seconds walk onto a white sandy beach. Also stayed on a little further up the road. I`m wanting to go back up there this year but the OH wants to go to Cornwall. Camusdarach is also a very nice site, we popped in for a view when we were passing.

I love the CC site at Kinlochewe. It's not everybody's cup of tea.All hardstandings, you need metal awning pegs and the toilet block is not very modern.Neither bother us, especially the toilet block. On the plus side you are in a fantastically scenic location with a shop and pub within yards of the entrance. The walking around and about is stunningly beautiful.

It's also a cheaper site than most CC ones.

Midges are a problem, as they are at all the West Coast location.

If the weather turns against you it's a short haul over to Inverness and the CC have a site at Culloden. Lots more to do around here when it rains.
