"Wet" Lockers

My van has a "wet" locker - and is a complete waste of time.

It even has 230 volt electrical socket in it.

The door doesn't have a notch cutout for cable entry so the socket can only be used with the locker door open exposing the indoor type electrics to the elements.

Caravan designers don't seem to put any thought into what they are designing.

Alistair,

It is quite easy to put a notch in the bottom of the locker door. All you need is a drill and a file. Ours was not large enough so i used a drill and file to enlarge it.

I know this,my point is the lack of design consideration by the "designers"

Wet lockers are great. We use ours all the time (given the amount of rain we've had) Once my OH has packed up all the outside stuff and the caravan is hitched ready to go. He takes off all his wet waterproofs and they go into the wet locker. You don't want wet coats Etc in the car making everything wet and steaming up the windows. so that's why I love our wet locker.

The vans with sockets fitted (from new) in the wet locker do have a flap over the socket, so it is unlikely to be affected by wet boots or soggy waterproofs.
When a plug is inserted into the socket the flap is no longer closed - is it.
