Whale IC Controller

Hi. I have a caravan almost 8 years old that I have owned since new. I have an ongoing problem with the Whale IC water pump controller that I have almost given up on. The problem started a couple of years ago when, after a cold winter, the water filter below the sink burst. I replaced it with a new one and the water pump didn't run. This was my 4th pump renewal in the life of the caravan so far, however, the new pump also didn't work. After realising a burning smell from the IC Controller, I removed the controller and it was burned out. I replaced the controller and had difficulty calibrating it because I needed to fill the system with water first and it wouldn't pump. Eventually, the pump started working for less than a couple of minutes and burned out again. I have checked the pumps off the unit directly to a battery and both the old and the new pumps work fine. I have cleaned the screw in tap filters to make sure they are clear, fitted another now controller, the LED light functions as described in the calibrating sequence, but the pump will not come on and pump water. I am now at the point where I am considering renewing the whole supply system with a different manufacturer and a less complicated system.
Any thoughts please??

I forgot to mention, I also renewed the plug-in pipe fitting and it made no difference. For the past 18months we have only booked a full-serviced pitch and have connected up directly to the tap without the need for a pump and the system has worked fine. I have tried the system on a fully charged battery and also while plugged in to the mains - no difference, still didn't work.
