Pump runs and pumps ok when not attached to caravan giving good water flow. When attached to caravan pump runs but no water supplied.

Checked taps. all clear, battery good 13.89 volts at pump terminals which appear ok.removed one way valve at pump plug in on wall. Appears ok. Connected pump with one way valve removed, and internal pipe removed. Water flowed very slowly. replaced one way valve and pump runs but not enough pressure to open valve/ Took pump to dealer who tested it and said it was working ok giving good flow. System is clean with no signs of grit or dirt blocking system.

When you switch the supply switch from battery to car it blows the pump fuse. Guess there must be a wiring fault somewhere

Any ideas would be appreciated

It sounds like the pump is struggling and on the verge of giving up.

Whilst it may sem to give a good flow off the van, what amount of delivery is there?

How old is the pump?

Once connected to the van it has to overcome the pipe run length to deliver to the taps, as well as filling the heater.

I woud try a new pump, or borrow a friends pump to verify this situation or disprove it.

Damian is probably right it is likely to be the pump.

One other check, when you set up the pump on the van try and get the level of the water as high as possible in relation to the van inlet to reduce as far as possible the head of water required to push into the van. If you get it high enough it will start to syphon into the van.

If this gives a good flow, it's definitely your pump at fault.

Thanks for that. I think it is the pump that needs to be replaced.
