Yes, there should be two o rings which have a small cross section, and consequently don't tend to last that long, so best keep some spares in. Also, you need to ensure that the connector block is pushed fully home, such that the cover flap can be folded down on top of the block, as its rear edge has a ridge to help keep the block in place. You may choose to add a lubricant to the rings, as the block can be quite tight to fit without..

i had this the other week and after deciding it was more water than a washer would let through i stripped down the socket that goes into the caravan (only two screws and nothing will fall out) and found that the pipes had pulled off.pushed pipes back on and re-assembled and it was fine.i must have pulled it too hard when leaving keswick.BUT it was flooding at the time and only had 30 minutes to leave the site.when we went back water was flowing out of the pump at a high rate.

hi brian just a thought does the housing have a filtre?? why because behind it there in a non return valve that could be stuck it happend to mine, water could not get passed it when the pump was on and it forced water out of the joint where the pipe connects to the housing might be worth a look if the pipe is ok
