I feel I must write in response to (Andrew Jenkinson, I'll Pass On Gas, P21 Feb 2007 Issue).
The first point I would like to make is to thank him for pointing out that after nearly fifty years of carravaning I am not a serious carravanner, as I have to hold my hands up and admit that I have only ever used Butane. The second point is that the only action present users of Propane have to take to use BP Gas Light, apart from obtaining the bottles, is to obtain a clip on adapter and a butane hose. Why you can't use the fitted Truma Triomatic regulater system with the BP gas baffles me especially if you are already useing Propane. This is not my understanding and as far as I can tell nobody else seems to know about it. It will of course be brilliant in future to exchange our bottles on the continet, there may be a shortfall at present but what we havn't had will not be missed for now.
I feel that Andrew is trying to justify to himself that he should not take the slight task of changing to BP Light or the expediture. I have already converted and consider the saving of 30 pounds in weight on my noseweight allowance well worthwhile. I am also advised from two large outlets that the, sale of/conversion to, Bp Gas Light is going very well. As I am now using Propane can I be considered after 50 years a serious carravaner.
