We have a new caravan and we don't want to end up with scratched windows. What kind of cloth is the best to use? We thought of just using water with a drop of Stardrops in it.

We have a new van too and have used one of these micro-cloths and just clean water - so far so good. We spray the windows with clean water first to get rid of any excess dirt and grime.

Try 2tablespoons of white vingar in half a bucket of water and soft kitchen towel. The vingar is good for muck/grease and leaves no smears and the kitchen towel wont scratch but leaves a nice shine.1 roll will do an average 4 berth with end bathroom.

Thank you for your advice.Somebody told me that using kitchen roll will scratch the windows.I would have thought it too soft to scratch.

Kitchen Towel - is a cheap paper product, usually with a reasonable content of raw wood fibres unaltered by the paper making process. And as such, will happily scratch plastic windows or spectacle lenses.

Real "optical cleaning paper" is vastly more expensive.

Probably the best thing is an old, well washed T-shirt - or similar piece of towelling. These should be super soft and have no nasties lying in wait.

Towelling also works really, really well when buffing off any wax you've used on a car or caravan...

Probably the most important tip is - anything cleaning cloth that you drop on the floor shouldn't be used to clean windows or buff a car - it's bound to have picked up grit...
