what happens to old caravans

They end up in a caravan breakers yard where anything of value is removed and stored on shelves ready for resale.. The chassis and parts of the shell is recycled.

Depends what you call old! My Royale Rangemaster is 37 years old and is still in regular use, touring Europe and the UK all year round, towed by our 24-year-old Range Rover. Last time out was over New Year weekend.
My 30 year old Talbot Camelot camper van went to France last year and is currently slowly being prepped for a three week UK tour, beginning in two weeks time.
There is a thriving Retro Caravan Club UK, who's members all own caravans or campers dating from pre 1990.
Old caravans never die, not if they are loved as ours are!

A Smashing day out last summer :woohoo:
