What improvements would you like to see?

Here are a few suggestions that IMHO would enhance this website:

1. As well as showing the subject, posts and last post, why not add the name, date & time of the originator and the number of viewings.

2. The ability to edit your own posting.

3. Being able to create hyperlinks to other websites. This would allow members to direct readers to their own websites and share photographs.

4. The ability to add 'smilies' to your postings.

Anymore suggestions?

I too would suggest emoticons(smilies) as sometimes I have wrote things entirely innocently and when read back seem a bit confrontational, the ability to add an emotion would clarify how you are saying something not just what you are saying !also the point again that in the main heading someone whos posts a coment is show as the last poster but when you click that forum you have to "root" to find where it went !!

Perhaps we could also have the option of adding our own signature. For example Andy could have - 'Andy with split personalities' 🙂

Old fashioned me (and not without a sense of humour) would like to see the Moderate back to get rid of ( or channel into a "chat" topic) much of the trivia that now seems to clutter up the site - see some 47 postings on Andy which contain absolutely nothing relevant to caravanning.

There are plenty of other places for this, and such action would keep the back pages to a more reasonable size.

OK, OK do me a favour and save all the space you would otherwise take in telling me to get a life etc., but you did ask.

Ray, from a different Ray, I'm with you all the way on this one. I'm getting more selective on the postings I even bother to open.

Right then, why not have a general chitchat section for any topics other than caravanning. This could cover all sorts of queries, problems, general comments, etc, etc. After all amongst the caravanning fraternity there must be a wide range of knowledge that could be drawn on and shared.

hello Ray Smith

I agree totally with what you said.

In another forum I visit they have a basement section

and that would allow the children to go to their own post.

There is nothing wrong with having a laugh...

but it is a big turn off to see a normally good forum going down the drain.

The ability to post a picture would help at times, especially when answering some of the more technical enquiry's.

Maybe an auto spell checker for some of us. I'm a bit dyslexic you see, and often get a word spelt wrong.

The emoticons would be a great improvement.

I'd like to see incorrectly posted topics automatically put into their correct categories - there's quite a few under this topic heading which should be in the technical section - is this possible Moderator?

Unlike the 'old' forum, I don't have the facility to move messages, unfortunately.
