Has anyone any ideas what the Biley Pegasus will be? Google failed to find anything other than Bailey's website for this new one.

Cheers

Hello

I can confirm that the Bailey Pegasus is a new touring caravan range that will be introduced to the product portfolio later this year.

It will sit alongside our four existing product ranges, all of which will remain unchanged for the 2010 season.

Information on the new Pegasus range will be released on Thursday 17th September on a new micro site: www.bailey-pegasus.co.uk

Models will be on show for the first time at the International Caravan & Motorhome Show, NEC, Birmingham from Tuesday 14th - Sunday 18th October (Hall 18 Stand Number 18-15).

I think it might be a new luxury brand which sits above the senator

maybe competing with the buccaneer seen as bessacarr are no longer available

Looking at the outline image in the ad, I think it is a budget model. That flat front looks like a cost cutting measure to me. It could well be more of an outdoor utility vehicle (remember the Knaus Sport n Fun) especially considering Bailey's involvement with the caravan of the future competition.

Lets face it whatever it is it'll still be a Bailey, so probably best not to get too excited

Looking again at the teaser advert it appears to have a centre jockey wheel and a stabiliser so would appear above the std Ranger. The grab handles look very prominant (perhaps exposed chrome ones) and the front slope looks the same as the rest of the Baileys.

I am with caravanner guessing it is a range to go above the Senator.

Well spotted - I have a Ranger GT60 and didn't realise there was a difference :)

My daughter went to order a new Pageant this week to find it was discontinued along with several others. Asked the dealer ( who we know personally) about the Pegasus and he said they know nothing. He is going to a preview the day before it is released but he will be sworn to secrecy before he can see it. He thought it may be a motorhome but the photos and answer from Bailey put that question out of the way. We hope it will be above the Senator as we need to change our Wyoming series 5 but can't find anything we like better and don't consider the series 6 to be any improvement on what we have ( would also miss the freezer as we are on a seasonal pitch). Let's hope it's worth waiting for.

Pamela it could be that all the 09 stock has been sold and the inevitable (owing to the suppliers increasing their costs) price increase for the 10 model years have not been confirmed, rather than specific models actually being discontinued.

They have been nogotiating this model for some time and managed to get the last one which will go to the NEC for the towing before they get it. The Pageant is reducing from (Ithink) 10 models to about 7 and the Loire and Ardennes are definitely going. I notice that all manufacturers seem to be trimming their ranges so I assume it makes way for the Pegasus if they trim theirws too. At least my family got what they wanted ( and at a very good price).

Be very sure to check any van that has been to the NEC very carefully, they will receive years use in as many weeks. The towing route has a lot of roundabouts on it and the vans can be giong out every 20 mins or so. They may need new stabiliser pads after an NEC stint.

The larger vans especially could be towed by people unused to the size so check the alloys, tyres etc carefully.

yeah i would say the pegasus is going to be an upmarket van. As the pic does look like it has chrome grab handles and a three window front as well as newer style hitch with central jockey wheel. So I reckon the only place it could sit is above the senator because the gap between the pageant and the senator is already very small similarly the gap between the pageant and GT60 is also very small and we know from the pic it won't be cheaper than the GT60. As for martins comment "its only a bailey" bailey have come up with some of the most inovative designs and layouts in the last few years such as the Indiana, carolina and california. As well as helping the whole industry really drive the spec of caravans up. so i don't snobbish comments like that really help the discussion.

bailey is the ford of caravans, a decent product at a reasonable price. But nothing special.

I hope the new vans due are better than the lastest ones, because i am realy struggling to find a replacement for my senator.

Looks like Bailey has got you all going to the NEC, can't see many on the first day being at the other stands, looks like it was a real good sales pitch.

Well-done Baileys promotion department looks like you have pulled off a good advertising campaign, bet Swift, Lunar Elddis and all the other manufacturers are running around thinking of something to draw more attention them selves.

Just my thoughts

I haven't been to the NEC for ten years, i have better things to do with my time, 3 hours trying to get onto the motorway, was enough to put me of for life.

A pleasant short journey to my friendly local dealer, will show me all the new vans i require, and help save the environment.
