Hi,

I have a 2006 model Nissan X-Trail 2.0 petrol, I cannot find the towing capacity of this car, I have phoned Nissan, no luck, I have browsed the web and I see different limits ranging from 1400kg to 2200kg, but nothing specific about the 2.0 petrol version, has anyone got one of these and knows the correct towing capacity?

thanks.

HI

The Nissan brochure tech spec gives

Max trailer weight braked as 1500kg for the 2.0 petrol

They give the kerb weight as 1380-1455 and when I asked for a model specific kerb weight for the diesel they would not be more precise

This has come up several times on here and it seems that the only way to get the kerb weight is to go to a weighbrodge

85% of 1400kg is about 1200kg(1190)and 1455@ 85% is 1237kg

These figures are for the 2WD

Hope that helps

hi i have just been on the www.whattowcar.com i dont know how correct it is but it says the 2.0 16v 06 x-trail 141bhp is 1514kg. so to tow a van at 85% you would be looking at 1300kg maximum fully loaded. The 85% is a cc guide not the law but it is a good recommendation. i have the new santa fe and tow a new sterling elite onyx at 88 % it sits and tows perfect.

i dont know how correct these figures are and some people might not agree with me.
