Morning all

I have now got a week off work :cheer: so i can crack on with putting a wall board and timber battern back in the bathroom due to a leaking toilet. Better to get everything i need ready B)

1) Should i use treated wood battern behind the 3mm wall board
2) What adhesive to fix battern and wallboard
3) If i cant match the wall board to the other wall, should i use a vinyl or washable wall paper on new 3mm ply and also paper on top of the other walls with a suitable adhesive or pva
4) Finally a small section of ply under the toilet about 1 ft square needs to be replaced as it is soft, what mm ply is on top of the floor insulation and what is this stuck to the insulation with.

many thanks all

* just want to do it correctly and so the bathroom looks nice ;) pictures to follow

As I replied earlier - I didn't use treated batten as I didn't know how the adhesive might react with the treatment.
I used Screwfix's grab adhesive to attach the batten to the outer skin. This stuff.... http://www.screwfix.com/p/nemesis-mighty-grip-grab-adhesive-white-290ml/8808j
No reason why you ahouldn't use vinyl wallpaper but face both sides of the 3mm ply. If you do only one side, the ply will bend as it dries.
The floor will be made up of two sheets of 6mm ply with a core of Styrofoam between. In my workshop I have a trial piece of bonding which I made years ago. It's a piece of foam attached to ply using the Screwfix grab adhesive. They are impossible to separate.

Most timber now from Landscape garden supplier's is solvent free, this is where i got mine from, but the size you want wont exist!!! I Bought the nearest size available, cut it to length's required, planed it down, purchased a gallon [5 Litres] of solvent free preservative and soaked the prepared timber in a tin bath for 24+ hours. Let it dry for a few hours and away we went.

Cheers both

I assumed I may have to plane the wood battern to the correct size and as i've got a few tubes of fixall ultra tack adhesive that will help with the batterns and 3mm ply. ?
Noticed in some places where the units were screwed are thin strips of sheet metal which the old ply takes some shifting.
Decided to just replace the bottom half of the wall as the top is sound and the join is where the sink and units run so the join will be hidden.
As for the 1 ft square 5mm or 6mm floor ply which i need to replace under the toilet, thought i may have to use resin or another liquid form to glue the ply to the foam insulation so great to know i can use a grab adhesive and is this different to the fixall ultra tack I have ?

Only 1 other thing for now :p behind the battern i've noticed a couple of holes in the inner sheet ? ( bottom picture ) any advice .. thanks again both. Be great to see it all put back together

Morning
Ive actually gone with the dry kiln planned timber from Wickes, close enough size to what had rotten so may only have to trim a few mm from the insulation. I've also gone with 3.6 mm ply as i couldn't get a full 3mm sheet locally.

question is : I should bond both sides of the ply with pva glue and left to dry before fixing ? also would it be beneficial to pva glue the batterns and left to dry before bonding ?

many thanks
