what new or nearly new caravan

Hi

what new or nearly new 2 birth caravan would you go for
max weight 1250kg
must be v easy to tow
will spend a lot of time in remote places in scotland
budget 16k but obvioulsy would prefer to pay less

also what is the best discount you can get when buying new?

I think you could narrow down the choices from the Buyers Guide section at the back of each PC magazine. Consider the weights and the layout - do you want an end washroom (eg Eldis Explore 402 or Lunar Quasar 462) or an end kitchen (eg Lunar Arriva or Coachman Vision 380-2), or a fixed bed layout ('4 berth') to use as a 2 berth and leave the bed made up (eg Sprite Alpine 4 or Bailey Pursuit 430-4). You could also consider a special edition of a laayout you like to get uprated kit for little extra expense (Many dealerships have editions of Swift, Elddis or Caochman vans amongst others - Although I'll have to bow out of advice in your locality!). If you intend to explore 'off piste' the Caravan Club CS or C&CC CL might suit, then perhaps an end bathroom dressing room format would be preferable, and if you want to shower on board regularly consider a van with a sealed shower cubicle. Hope this all helps!

Oh and be prepaired to spin a coin as the quality of any individual caravan is a pretty unknown quantity despite any maker's reputation or lists of 'Quality Approvals'

The ' Friday afternoon' caravan is not yet dead, unfortunately.
