What new tow car

The OH has spent many a hour checking out the dossier/kerb weights for his next tow car. We currently tow an Adria Tay approx MTLP 1200kg and have narrowed it down to the following 2ltr diesels
1. VW Tiguan
2. Kia Sportage
3. Mazda CX-5
4. Mitsibishi Outlander

Any feedback would be gratefully recieved

Having driven all of those over the years at the PC Tow Car Awards event, if you can live with the slightly quirky looks, my choice would be the Mazda CX-5. It's also fun to drive solo too. The Tiguan is nice, and a good tow car, but perhaps a tad small (certainly for our use anyway). The other two are certainly ok, but aren't particularly inspiring despite doing the job. There is a new Outlander out now though, which I haven't driven yet.
Nigel.

Have you considered the Skoda Octavia Estate 2.0TDi 4x4 K/weight 1,495kg, with my Sprite Alpine 4 MTPLM 1,230kg 82% ratio. Same engine and Haldex traction as the VW Tiguan, and lots of load space.

well I did exactly the same thing as you, looked at the same cars and didn't choose a single one as I thought the VW was too expensive and wouldn't do any deals, the sportage isn't a good car for driving and the back window is too small and they are over priced, the Mazda CX-5 was a strong choice but when looked at prices and seeing what would get for money it was too expensive, the Mitsubishi outlander wasn't that good too agricultural.
so after all these I thought what would be a great car to have I looked at vauxhall and there it was Antara, it has BIG Diesel engine, and car tow upto two tonne.
I took the car out and realised could get great equipment for not huge amounts of money, so I bought it, I have heated seats, self levelling suspension which is great for towing and nice big 2.2 engine, which pulls trailers with ease. The finance side got a great deal on 0%.
highly recommended!!
