I used carpet tiles in a previous van, very easy to fit and the finish was great. You can often pick these up at suppliers quite cheaply when there stock of certain shades is coming to the end. Be sure to fit them with the bottom arrow indicators all the same way . Also you can cut them quite easily with a "Stanley Knife" obviously takeing care. I took the trouble to run a row down the centre of the floor space then work out to the edges this needed tiles to be cut both sides but the finish was worth the extra effort. I didn't need to fasten them down although I did buy the glue from the carpet shop. Just in the door way I used a little adhesive because the final strip was about 75mm wide.
All the best with whatever you do. Regards Brian

I would think the sticky strips sound very easy (and warmer and softer on the feet than laminates) and then put some runners on top where you want carpet or get a role end of carpet, cut to size and have the edges bound. You then have drop in carpets. Yes laminate would be far to heavy. Lino may not be so fiddly if you lay it out and use a paper template to cut it out rather than doing it in the van.
Good luck.

quite rigt Martin using a template is the best way but instead of using paper use the original carpet as you know that fits
ok so the carpet will be fitted under the units but for a new floor covering this is not nessesary just cut to the edge of the units with a stanly and lift it out place on top of new floor covering cut out and hey presto fit exactly.
This is how I did it when we changed the carpet in our van, although the van is only 5 years old, her indoors can be a bit clumbsy owing to the arthritis in her hands so wanted to fit a scotchgaurded new one and beside who thinks of the colour schemes for vans I ask you a PINK carpet for something used in a muddy field??

The sticky backed strips are the way to go I fitted them to an old abbey 516gst that we had a few years ago, They are a doddle to lay but its the prep you got to get right, ie the floor must be spotless before you stick them down.
We found them great with having 2 small kids about realey easy to keep the van clean, we did find that in the winter it made the floor feel cold but the "Catering Cleaning and Logistic Deparment " ( wife ) bought some carpet runners and all was well, if they got grubby they could be taken up and shaken outside or if really grubby taken home and put in the washing machine.

Could you please tell me where you get the stick down laminate flooring as I have just been repairing my delaminated floor and would like to put something else down rather than than the original carpet.

Just been to B&Q and saw the flooring.
