Looking to buy new awning , we are new to caravaning and just wandering what type of awning to buy , we are looking for awning easly put for week end, we would like a porch but been told they are drafty , can any one help !!!!!!!!!!
I have an Isabella full awning for stays over 3 days but for short stays or weekends I have just bought Outdoor revolution Techlite1 porch awning, just had a week away in sufolk in the snow using it and it were great, easy to put up used the storm straps provided and it were really good, yes you get abit of draft but not that much.
Hi Tony, most porch awnings have no fixings to the sides of the caravan & rely on the pegging out to keep it close to the sides .so unless you make sure that the awning rail height of the van is witin the height parameters of the awning manf.you will not get a decent fit (the sides do not connect with the van)& so will be drafty you will probably also need a wheel arch cover as well as these are not usually suplied with the awning
The lightweight porch awnings have a tendency to be draughty, however, if you considered purchasing the convential type of awning, be it porch or otherwise, you shouldn't get that problem. :O)
