How do you get your towels and laundry dry on caravan holidays? For the February issue we've been testing all shapes and sizes of clothes airers and driers, priced from about a fiver up to £77 for heated ones.

The full list is in the magazine, but you can also check out some of our clothes airer reviews online here! Find out why the Kampa AC0290 is our group test winner.

We'd love to know your favourites, too.

We have used a stand alone Rotary unit for years, nce upon a time we had a window clip on jobby, but since the launch of cassette windows we found that the fitting was of no use so binned it

we have the rotary dryer although not sure if it is the same as the one tested. They work well but rely on good weather which is not guaranteed here. They also blow over easily, so we have some large tent pegs to hold it down.
The Kampa looks good idea and with a hanging rail across the top of the shower in our caravan, it has a suitable place to hang it out of the way. May have a look at this therefore.

We did try the window hanging type but found it damaged the caravan paintwork so binned it.

Ditto. Rotary here, well secured outside and if needed when wet can always bring it into the awning. Ray, When we used a clip on over the window frame one, we slit an old bit of gas pipe to put over the part against the caravan wall as protection.

We hang stuff over the awning roof poles (light stuff) and attach it to suction hooks, situated a few inches above the fridge vent, so the hot air dries it, and the ventilation isn't impeded. I also have a hanging rail in the loo area, and one that hangs out of the window!

We two also have the rotary drying rack it takes only a few minutes to assemble and secured with three rock pegs and very stable . And like crazyguider we also hang stuff in the awning if we have it up and heat does the rest and also in the bathroom which gets very hot which is spot on for the towels if we have a shower on an an evening .

Lady Mel ,
I love my shower too much not to have one if I'm onsite with facilities but there was once when we were on a CL with none and I went all weekend without one ! I would use a full aquaroll if I wanted a shower in the caravan !! :eek:hmy:

how do you dry wet stuff, :) well the same way one did it 40 years, by using a clothes line between the awning pole and the car roof rack worked then works now, and if the weathers wet, well isn't that what the site driers in the laundry are for.

We smell until we get Home. B)

Good job we don't use an airer in the van. The tumble dryer at home has just packed up at the point of having two loads of wet washing. The unused "over the window" caravan airer has been pressed into service over a radiator.
