Whats your Job? Whats do you all do in real life? I think most know i am a garage manager for a Blue chip company and the other half is a driver for unichem. So what do you do when your not caravaning?

30 years Ambulance Service on the frontline. I had to finish due to skeletal injury but am now enjoying life. No more 12 hour shifts, 24/7, and no more abuse from drunks and druggies. Whenever I'm feeling a bit down I think of that and believe me, I soon perk up :O)
big col hear i did 32 years on farm this is my forth year working full time with homeless people so i realy need my caravan for well earned breaks

15 years in ICI as a plant support / research chemist, now working much harder (for more money) as a general builder specialising in disabled access bathrooms / wetrooms and owt else that's going, the better half is an occupational therapist, we also have a couple of holiday cottages in what was our stable block in Port Mulgrave near Whitby.
retired transport manager(said he laughingly), but otherwise:
1)Project manager for our new village hall.
2)chair of our local residents assoc.
3) trustee of a local charity
4)Hse commitee chair for the above.
5)management commitee member of the above.
6)chair of the Royale Owner's club.
7)Temp editor of newsletter for the above.
8)commitee member of local lunch club.
9)Dyson driver for Herself, cos she can't manage the new machine.
10)dog walker for my Border Collie, and Herself's Cairn.
11)chauffer and wheelchair pusher for Herself.
12)caravan tow-er and setter-up
Nos 10-12 are are the relief from nos 1-9!
Any time left is used up in diy repairs around the house and looking after the paddock and buildings, and,of course, looking after cars and caravan to ensure they're always ready to go off into the wide blue yonder.
I should stress that all of the above jobs are entirely voluntary, and so I enjoy them all, although the village hall is a bit stressful just now.
Bored in retirement? Sorry, I don't have time for that!!
PS, in between, we generally fit in around 20 weeks holiday, but I don't know how!!!

Left school in the mid 60s at 15 and trained to be a baker. (the old style indentured apprenticship) Once qualified, I completed an HND in Food Science and moved into production management in food manufacturing with United Biscuits.
I spent the last 20 years of my working life, before taking a redundancy and early retirement in 2001, with a major supermarket, heading up their instore bakery operations deparment...You could taste the difference when I worked there...ha, ha.
For the last six years, when we are not off touring (about 150 days a year, including 3 months in Spain) I get involved as the voluntary local secretary for a childrens charity which is very satisfying and we deliver our local newsletter around the village.

Started as a clerk in a Stockbrokers in Edinburgh, interesting times as I lived through BP (Tell Sid!), Black Wednesday, et-al, moved to a bank, became an in-house trainer, became an IT trainer then moved to a specialist IT training company.
now an IT Support Analyst working for the Education Service in primary schools - you gotta love those teachers! also at college part-time and trying desperately to improve my golf.

33 years in the oilfield. Worked both domestic and international in a lot of places I never wish to see ever again.
Currently on sabbatical from retirement in Hungary, but come next year, back to the pipe and slippers routine.

My uncle Doug did the same. Keeps retireing and going back to work!! Just come back from Belgium. He says thats it, but i know he will go again he is now 6933 years in the oilfield. Worked both domestic and international in a lot of places I never wish to see ever again.

I know how you feel thats why i quit the hospital. Got fed up of being thumped. I worked in EMI30 years Ambulance Service on the frontline. I am a general assistant for the same supermarket as you Diane, and my other half is a bus driver for a well known company in the gwent valleys.
Sorry Diane, I,ve only just realised what you mean, and i mean,t that i work for the same company as you, but not in the same place.
