I like working nights, although i only work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday they are two nine and one ten hour shifts and i get the rest of the week off, so i can,t complain. I used to work the day shift up untill Feb and i had to start at five in the morning, so even though i,m not generally a night person i,de rather work nights, than have to get up at four in the morning, and i don,t miss that alarm clock at all. I,de never go back to days.

What about you Diane, how long have you worked for Tesco?

Diane, I often wonder that myself! It looks a very impressive list, but actually, none of them is particularly onerous. This week , I have spent an hour or so arranging a meeting of consultants for the new village hall project, tonight I have a HSE meeting, ans on wednesday a management meeting for the charity. Somewhere I'll fit in a site meeting for the hall, and that's probably all for the week.Total time perhaps 6 hours. Until Herself's movement became restricted, I used to do agency driving as well! But, as I said, I don't have to do any of it, so I enjoy it all.It would be nice not to have to push the wheelchair, but that's life, so we make the best of it.

Hi,

I am a cnc turner , making formula 1 parts for the top teams and rally parts as well.... some of the parts we make cost more than a brand new twin axle van , cannot say what parts as i may get into trouble for stating so. Its all top secret some of the stuff we do.But very interesting.Working with both aluminium and titanium quite a lot of which titanium is very strong and light (and costs the earth)

For ED,

My daughter has just finished her 1st year photography course and is going back to do her HNC.The intention is that she will do wedding photography......her husband already does wedding videos on a part time basis,so they should be able to pair up.

I can't believe how enthusiastic she has been as she wasn't one who enjoyed school and studying at all.

What part of the country are you in?

When I left school I went into mechanical engineering. Left that trade after 17 years, then made conservatory roofs.I now work on the railway overhead lines. Jumping out of icemakers way.

Hi Mark, my severely Dyslexic son has just finished his degree course. He had mini discs for recording lectures, a document reader scanner, a screen reader ("read and write 7", which does phonetic spelling), a lap top, a printer, time from student support to spell check his work and readers/scribes for exams as well as extra time. All funded by disabled students grant. If one higher education establishment can do this, another can. Keep shouting and making a fuss until someone gives you what you need. Good Luck.

Hi,

Commissioning Engineer, Coal Fired Power Stations, suppose I could be held to account for some of the so called Global Warming. But I suppose I can feel quite smug about helping to bring some relief from the hot summers, to Chinese Pesants. They now have power to run ACUs, oh and to to be able to switch on the light in the evening to read by, or even watch TV. Last job was a Circulating Fluidized Bed, new technology for clean burn coal ( lignite) in the USA.

Now retired and fighting off the urge to go back to work.

Fire Service. Really enjoy it, particularly now some of the sexist dinosaurs are retiring and standards are rising in line with that.
