If you mean they attach with a pop studs.

A lot of people do not like screwing or riveting the studs base to the caravan.

The pop studs can be bought in a small pack with a simple fitting tool in most good sewing shops and the base takes a 1/8' rivet or small head self tapping screw. Its very easy to make one yourself with a suitable piece of PVC or Coated nylon.

Julie...I agree with cris I don't like using the press stud fittings for the wheel cover. However, I believe you can get them from caravan dealers who sell awnings.

INSIDERS TIP OF THE WEEK ;-)

The large pop studs used for holding wheel arch flaps are a very secure way of holding the skirting.

When the bases are fitted to a metal or wooden surface. The fixing screws head or rivet head must fit down in the recess of the pop stud base.

Wrong sized rivets and screws distort the base and can make popping the top of the stud on and off very hard and lead to damage of the area the base is attached to.

The pop studs have are made by a variety of different manufacturer. The inner base where the screw or rivet goes in of some of the studs is raised higher than the outer edge. If you screw or rivet it to hard it will squash down level with the outer edge base and also distort and cause problems.

If a pop stud base looks healthy but you have trouble fitting the top to it, it will be distorted 99% of times, replace and use correct sized screw of rivet and do not over tighten it ;-)

I bought some foam rubber about 25mm thick and covered it with a heavy duty plastic bag , the laundry type can be bought off most markets, it will push up inside the wheel arch and behind the awning skirt , stays in place no problem and keeps the draught out.
