Wheel Nuts

We had our first run out in our new Bailey Pageant Bretagne at the weekend complete with alloy wheels. As they do not come with locking wheel nuts I decided to buy some and fit them to the van.

I had assumed that the van corner steady brace would double up as a wheel brace - wrong! Then tried the wheel brace from the car (X-Trail) - no luck there either. Neither would fit into the holes in the wheel.

Does this mean I am supposed to carry a separate wheelbrace to the two I already carry? If so where can I get one that will fit? I dont fancy dragging the van to Halfords to try their wheel braces for size.

Surely this is a piece of kit that should come with the van?

My van came with a wheel brace, only found out when I needed to change a wheel that it was the wrong size, being slightly too big ;O(

I now carry a seperate one for the 'van .

John, my thoughts exactly. You spend enough on the van you would think that locking nuts would be standard (I got a pair of SAS nuts for under a tenner, so its more the proinciple than the cost) but for there not to be a wheel brace that fits is just ridiculous. The one in the gas locker is purely for the corner steadies and wouldnt fit in the holes in the alloy wheels even if it is the same size as the wheel nuts.
